August 1 - 14, we observe the Fast of the Dormition. During the fast, we also pray together in the Paraklesis (Supplication) to the Theotokos. The Paraklesis will be sung at 6:00 P.M. on the Mondays and Fridays of the fast. Confessions will be heard following the services.

... Grant Gabriel and Naomi Nona Wood on the Baptism of their son Grant Peter on Saturday, June 28th. The godparents are Daniel and Ella Monahan. May God grant him many years!

On Sunday, July 20th, Fr. Gianulis will be away for a family wedding. Services will be held as scheduled (Orthros, 9 a.m. and Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m.) with Fr. Bill Bartz celebrating.

Sometimes the Feast of the Dormition is referred to as "The Summer Pascha." Well, let's celebrate it!

On Sunday, August 17, we will be having a luncheon in honor of the feast day of the Dormition of the Theotokos and in appreciation of the stewardship and resilience of our St. Demetrios parish.  Having just completed our most successful festival to date and with our roof repair nearing completion below our budget, we wanted to celebrate our blessings with a special lamb shank and pasta luncheon that will be prepared by your fellow parishioners.  There will be on charge for the luncheon.  Free will donations are always welcome in support of the ministries of the church.  

Parents, we trust you have received the Camp Good Shepherd Information Packet. If you have not or if you do not have a way to bring your kids to camp, then please contact Fr. Milton as soon as you can.  

Registration is still open- there is space for more campers. Please speak with Father Milton for scholarship information.

We are very excited about the iconography. The donations for the icon project have been going very well. Pledges have been received for nearly all the icons. Thanks to all of you who have made a pledge. We are going to replace the ceilings in men's and women's first floor bathrooms in the Hellenic Center to improve maintenance in the facility.  As part of this project, Tom Coghill is going to lead a volunteer team to perform the demolition of the existing ceilings on Saturday, July 19th which will save us thousands of dollars on the project.  If you are interested in being part of Tom's wrecking crew, please reach out to Tom Coghill or Mike Thompson.
