On September 23 we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the laying of the church cornerstone. A framed commemorative document displaying the signatures of many who were present is in the Brides' Room. The Zoom Book Group will return on Thurs. evenings from 7:30-8:30 pm, starting Sept 24 and running for 8 weeks. They will be reading The Orthodox Way, written by Metropolitan Kallistos Ware of Diokleia (of Blessed Memory), a renowned theologian, scholar, teacher, writer and lecturer at Oxford University.

Thurs., Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m. there will be a planning meeting for the Independence parade in March 2027. Representatives from all the parishes and Greek clubs welcome. The 2nd Annual Paint & Pour will be held Thursday, September 24 starting at 6:00 p.m. at Market 42, 2099 Pearl Rd. in Brunswick. Tickets are $65 per person which includes a glass of wine, food provided by Local West, and dessert. Ticket also includes all painting supplies and instructor.

As we close out the year and get ready to begin a New Church Year, the EOWG is also in full gear to reunite our friends from our neighboring Orthodox churches and make new friends who join us along with opportunities to deepen our faith.

In order to further unite the Orthodox Churches of Greater Cleveland and to continue to grow in Christ as One Church, the month of August has been declared our 'Membership Drive' month. Please consider joining our ministry and come to our FIRST meeting in September - and bring a friend!

We will be holding a Community Potluck Coffee Hour this Sunday, September 20. We will provide the coffee, cream, sugar, and paper products, but we ask that each person or family bring a small offering to share. Let’s come together and make Coffee Hour a warm and welcoming place for everyone!

New Altar Boys are invited to join the group. Boys must be at least 10 years old, willing to commit to regular attendance and must attend an orientation on Saturday, October 3, 1:00-2:00 PM. Those interested should contact Fr Stephen by email- [email protected]. 

The 4th annual  Men Who Cook will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3! Philoptochos will be selling tickets to the event during this week's coffee hour. All proceeds  will benefit the charities of the Philoptochos.

Sunshine Group:  Our October lunch is Thursday, October 15 at 12:30 PM at Crostatas.  Crostatas is at 558 Bishop Rd, Highland Heights, OH 44143.  Please bring $20/pp.  Crostatas is a lovely family-owned Italian restaurant.  We will enjoy a family-style lunch.  Our last visit was a big success! November 12 is the date of our lunch and is the second Thursday of the month.  The Sunshine Christmas party will be December 3 which is the FIRST Thursday in December.  Our catered Christmas party is held at church, and we always have a wonderful time.

Please join Saints Constantine and Helen Saint Makrina Bible Study for a Fall Retreat on October 17, 2026 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Our speaker is Elissa Bjeletich Davis, an Orthodox author, podcaster and speaker. The topic is “Light Streams In” - In turbulent times, how are Christians to engage with this modern world? We look to Saint Porphyrios who teaches us to let Christ’s light stream into the darkness, and challenges us to radiate light.
Tickets are $15 which includes breakfast and lunch ($20 after 10/10).

Saint Makrina Bible Study will be returning to the book "Let Us be Attentive - Refections on the Sunday and Feastday Scripture Readings of the Orthodox Church". Please join us. We try to align our readings with the church calendar. 
You can participate as much or as little as you’d like. We meet every Wednesday at 9:30 am over Zoom. You do not have to attend every session and can participate in the discussions as much or as little as you wish. We would love to have you!
