The Library Group and Choir will co-host a special coffee hour this Sunday followed by a talk and book-signing with Dr. Peter Gilbert. The author will speak on his book "On God and Man: The Theological Poetry of  St. Gregory of Nazianzus" today, Sunday Sept. 13, after coffee hour in the Cathedral Center. All are welcome.

Little Saints is today! 
Little Saints brings our youngest parishioners (and their parents) together once per month for a story, a snack, and spiritual nourishment. Registration is not required for Little Saints, simply join us downstairs after communion.

The Exaltation of the Holy Cross is the first major feast of the Ecclesiastical New Year, celebrated September 14. It is also the feast day of Hellenic College Holy Cross and on this day we ask you to look to the cross, think of Christ’s sacrifice for humankind and give sacrificially of yourself.
Our goal is to welcome as many new monthly donors to the Advocate Program as possible. By giving monthly, you provide the school consistent income that helps it educate and spiritually form the clergy needed for the 70 parishes currently without an assigned priest – and to all parishes in need. St. Mary of Egypt needs people to come help unload the food truck the day before the third Saturday of each month at 4345 State Rd, Cleveland, OH 44019. On September 23 we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the laying of the church cornerstone. A framed commemorative document displaying the signatures of many who were present is in the Brides' Room. The Zoom Book Group will return on Thurs. evenings from 7:30-8:30 pm, starting Sept 24 and running for 8 weeks. They will be reading The Orthodox Way, written by Metropolitan Kallistos Ware of Diokleia (of Blessed Memory), a renowned theologian, scholar, teacher, writer and lecturer at Oxford University.

The 2nd Annual Paint & Pour will be held Thursday, September 24 starting at 6:00 p.m. at Market 42, 2099 Pearl Rd. in Brunswick. Tickets are $65 per person which includes a glass of wine, food provided by Local West, and dessert. Ticket also includes all painting supplies and instructor.

As we close out the year and get ready to begin a New Church Year, the EOWG is also in full gear to reunite our friends from our neighboring Orthodox churches and make new friends who join us along with opportunities to deepen our faith.

Please join Saints Constantine and Helen Saint Makrina Bible Study for a Fall Retreat on October 17, 2026 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Our speaker is Elissa Bjeletich Davis, an Orthodox author, podcaster and speaker. The topic is “Light Streams In” - In turbulent times, how are Christians to engage with this modern world? We look to Saint Porphyrios who teaches us to let Christ’s light stream into the darkness, and challenges us to radiate light.
