Resurrectional Apolytikion in the Fourth Mode
When the women disciples of the Lord heard the Angel joyously proclaim the resurrection, they cast aside the ancestral verdict, and boasting in glory they said to the Apostles, “Death has been despoiled! Christ God has risen, granting the great mercy to the world!”

Apolytikion for Athanasius of Athos in the Third Mode
The Angels' ranks were awed by thy life in the flesh, how, though corporeal, and clad with earthly clay, thou didst set forth with courage to invisible wars and wrestlings and didst boldly smite the hordes of the demons with mortal wounds. Wherefore, Christ rewarded thee with abundant gifts in return. Entreat Him that our souls find salvation, O most renowned Father Athanasius.

The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 5:22-26; 6:1-2.
Brethren, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us have no self-conceit, no provoking of one another, no envy of one another. Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Look to yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

The Reading is from Matthew 8:28-34; 9:1
At that time, when Jesus came to the country of the Gergesenes, two demoniacs met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one would pass that way. And behold, they cried out, "What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?" Now a herd of many swine was feeding at some distance from them. And the demons begged him, "If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine." And he said to them, "Go." So they came out and went into the swine; and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and perished in the waters. The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, and what had happened to the demoniacs. And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their neighborhood. And getting into a boat he crossed over and came to his own city.

Patience is a labor that does not crush the soul. It never wavers under interruptions, good or bad...Patience sets a boundary to the daily onslaught of suffering...Patience comes from hope and mourning, and indeed to lack those is to be a slave of despondency.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES:
RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: Our YAL (Young Adults League) group will be sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive at the Hellenic Cultural Center on Sunday, July 19th from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm. CRITICAL NEED ALERT: Blood donation appointments are down during the summer months, and blood is needed for emergencies and lifesaving medical care.

GOLF OUTING: SAVE THE DATE! The Sts. Constantine & Helen Men's Club will be holding their 15th Annual Golf Outing on Sunday, August 16th at Fellows Creek Golf Course. They are looking for Sponsors and Golf teams (of four). Proceeds benefit the philanthropic and parish ministries of our Men’s Group, including the “Feed the Needy” program.
NEWS AND NOTICES:
SUMMER SURVIVAL BOARD: Our Summer Survival Board is back in the church Narthex. Even though church attendance and donations unfortunately decrease during the summer months, youth programs and other ministries increase their activity, while regular building and property maintenance, utilities, and other expenses continue. That is why, again this year, we are asking for your help by making an additional donation to our “Summer Survival” campaign. When you are in church, please write in your name in the category/donation amount that you plan to contribute. You can make your donation online at stcons.org or by cash or check. Your help will make a big difference!
CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS AND STEWARDSHIP CARDS: The St Cons six-month church contribution statements will be mailed out the week of July 6th. Please open your statements and check them against your personal records to insure the church has received your donations. If you have not yet completed a 2026 Stewardship pledge card, it’s not too late - please do so today. Pledge cards can be downloaded from our website at: https://www.stcons.org/stewardship or contact the church office and we’ll be happy to get it to you by email, post, or in person! Your pledge of support helps the church to allocate resources; and insures that you will be included in the parish Christmas card and receive parish communications.
MEMORIAL SERVICES AND TRIBUTES: Please call the church office to schedule all memorials and coffee hour sponsorships at least two weeks in advance. On the day of the service, please bring a list of family names you would like Father to remember in prayer. Koliva will be distributed at the coffee hour; if you wish to bring in paximadia, koulourakia, or other dry cookie it may also be distributed. Coffee Hour sponsorship is not required, but for those who wish, a sponsorship donation of $200 is requested. HCC will set up a table with cloth and coffee, etc. for your family. Family members may also choose to have flowers placed on the Altar table for a donation of $75 (two large vases), or to purchase a bottle of communion wine from our parish bookstore for $30 for the service.
NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY: Our Moms Group will be working to put together a new church parishioner directory in the coming months. Volunteer photographers are needed, along with volunteers to help plan and coordinate the project. We will be putting the book together entirely “in-house”. If you are interested in working on the directory, please contact Georgia Kapsalis at: [email protected]
REMEMBER THE CHURCH IN YOUR WILL: You’ve supported the church your whole life, remembering us in your estate plan will help the church when you’re gone. Consult your estate planner or contact the Church office for information. We are grateful to our parishioners who have left bequests to the church in the last few years. Their loving legacy made a big difference! May their memory be eternal.
