LIGHT A CANDLE AND SAY A PRAYER: When you are not able to attend church, you can purchase a candle from our church website (home page or video-streaming page), which will be lit before the following service or a service that you specify. Please give specific names, living or deceased, that you would like Father to remember in prayer. Father will light candles one hour before each service. For Sunday services, please place candle orders prior to 8:00 am Sunday morning.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES:
HOPE AND JOY COFFEE HOUR CRAFTS: Today, May 4th, there will be Mother’s Day craft activities available for young people, Pre K – 12 years, at the regular Coffee Hour, while the parents have a chance for some “adult talk” with Father Teodor and Deacon George. Light snacks will be made available for the children.
PHILO and GOYA MEETINGS TODAY: Following today’s May 4th Divine Liturgy service, there will be meetings for our St. Cons’ GOYA in the Board Room, and the St. Helen Philoptochos in the HCC hall. If you are a member of either group, please plan to attend. Year-activities, and Elections will be discussed.
ST CONS NAME DAY DINNER DANCE: Our Saints Constantine and Helen Name Day Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday, May 17th. This is always a fun family event with great food and great music, and lots of great company! Tickets will be available beginning next Sunday. MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH: Make your reservations today for the Hellenic Cultural Center’s annual Mother’s Day Brunch, Sunday, May 11th, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Your $40 adult ticket includes an all-you-can-eat Brunch buffet, family photo booth,and a complimentary cocktail and gift for mom! Call the HCC office at 734.525.3550.
EUCHRE TOURNAMENT: Our Men’s Group will be hosting a Euchre Tournament on Saturday, May 24th at the HCC. Party starts at 7:30 pm, and the cost of $45/person includes cash prizes, keg beer, wine, pizza, hot dogs, sliders, snacks and contribution toward the “Feed the Needy” and other church-related programs. BIBLE STUDY: Our Adult Bible Study group will begin Tuesday evening meetings next week, Tuesday May 6th at 7:00 pm. The group meets weekly, for study and discussion of the Book of Matthew on the ZOOM platform. Link: https://zoom.us/j/7345256789, Meeting ID: 734 525 6789. All adults are welcome to join, No pre-registration is needed.
PARISH PICNIC/SUNDAY SCHOOL GRADUATION: Mark your calendars for our annual St Cons’ parish Picnic and Sunday School graduation, on Sunday June 1st. It’s always a fun time with lots of delicious food to share, large outdoor games and inflatables for the kids, and nostalgic ice cream treats for the kid in all of us!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL! Our Vacation Bible School, for young people Pre K – 6th grade, will be held the week of June 16 – 20. As you plan your summer vacation and camp schedules, save this week for the kids to have a fun time learning about their faith! More information coming soon!

NEWS AND NOTICES:
CEREAL BOX DRIVE/DOMINO CHALLENGE: Our GOYA members are asking for your donation of boxes of cereal from May 4th – May 30th! The cereal will be donated to the Wayne/ Westland schools for summer breakfast programs. At the end of the challenge, join the fun when the boxes are set up like dominos – and we watch them fall!
LANGSFORD MEN’S CHORUS AT ST CONS: On Sunday May 18, the Langsford Men’s Chorus will present their concert “Old Friends” at Sts. Constantine and Helen church at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $18 at the door, and $15 in advance. For tickets or more information, through Strat Calagias, or online at www.langsfordmenschorus.org The concert will be a tribute to years of mentoring young people in the Wayne State University choirs.
FAITH SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: This scholarship program aims to support the best and brightest graduating high-school seniors in the Hellenic-American Greek Orthodox community planning to attend a 4-year accredited US university this fall. Scholarships are awarded on a merit basis with applicants given the option to be considered for additional financial need-based allocations. HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE GRADUATES! Please help us to honor our graduates! Submit the following to the church office by June 1st: a photo (headshot) of your graduate, the name of school they are graduating from, the school they will attend (HS grads) or the degree they have achieved (College grads) and their course of study, and the parents’/grandparents’ names. Please forward as a digital file to: [email protected] Our graduates will be honored and receive a special gift on Sunday, June 15th.
MDSC STAFF POSITIONS: The Metropolis of Detroit Summer Camp is still looking for people to fill staff positions. Particularly if any college students are interested in the medical field, they are looking for a six week medical director. MEMORIAL SERVICES: Please call the church office to schedule all memorials and coffee hour sponsorships at least two weeks in advance. On the day of the service, please bring a list of family names you would like Father to remember in prayer. The requested Coffee Hour Sponsorship donation is $200. Koliva will be distributed to parishioners at the coffee hour; if you wish to bring in paximadia, koulourakia, or other dry cookie it may also be distributed.
REMEMBER THE CHURCH IN YOUR WILL: You’ve supported the church your whole life, remembering us in your estate plan will help the church when you’re gone. Consult your estate planner or contact the Church office for information. We are grateful to our parishioners who have left bequests to the church in the last few years. Their loving legacy made a big difference! May their memory be eternal.
