10/31/2023
I am so very pleased to be with you here at our National Clergy Retreat in the very pleasant city of Phoenix. I want to thank once again the brothers of the Archdiocese Presbyters Council, who have assiduously labored on behalf of all of us, to create a space and a program that will, no doubt, inspire us in our ministries and spiritual practice.

You see the Apostle and First-Called Disciple Saint Andrew handing the Book of the Gospels to this Apostle Stachys. The image conveys both the spiritual lineage of Saint Stachys and his Apostolic appointment and ordination to the episcopacy. The Holy Apostle Paul calls him, “Στάχυν τὸν ἀγαπητόν μου,” in his Epistle to the Romans, showing the engaged ministry of this first Bishop of what would become the City of Constantine.†

Today is National Philoptochos Sunday, always on the day that we read the parable of the “Good Samaritan” in our churches across the country. Congratulatory Message by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America For the 50th Anniversary of Fr. Dennis Strouzas’ Ordination to the Priesthood
11/06/2023
It is with sentiments of paternal joy that I offer these words of heartfelt Archepiscopal commendation on the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Protopresbyter Dennis Strouzas’ ordination to the priesthood. While I am unable to join you in person this evening, kindly know that I am united with all of you in spirit, as you gather collectively in joyful fellowship to celebrate an exemplary clergyman and servant of the Lord, whose legacy has spanned for fifty years. This is why I also appointed the Chancellor of our Archdiocesan District, the Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Elias Villis, as my personal representative, so as to honor this significant occasion with the proper dignity and respect befitting a high caliber clergyman such as Fr. Dennis.
