2ND SUNDAY OF SAINT MATTHEW

Our Church read Jesus’ Call of His Disciples this Sunday,

To urge us to follow our Lord eagerly, also on Monday.

Not to let possessions or persons get in our way.

To mislead us in life and cause us to lose God’s way.

The Apostles accepted and followed Christ’s call,

And reached their glorious destination, with one fall.

They have become our light and good example,

Beckoning us to action with their godly example.

During the summer months with their delights,

Let us not be misguided and beguiled by its sights.

To depart from the narrow path of virtuous life,

And follow the broad road of the destructive life.

Christ freed us from sin and its destructive power,

To live a virtuous life, very beautiful as a flower,

To truly be human beings, composite of two,

Of the material body and of the spiritual soul too.

 God gave us the Holy Spirit to inspire and enable us,

To help us grow in our life and become virtuous,

All the Saints triumphed with assistance from the Spirit,

They Conquered the sinful world in body and Spirit.

We honored all of them in Church last Sunday.

Let us follow Christ with them also this Sunday.

As the first Apostles followed Him willingly,

They also invite us to imitate them wholeheartedly.

To our children, let us be a good example

To see in us the Christian life in a way ample.

So that what they learned in Sunday School,

They will see it practiced in our family school.

CHURCH SERVICES
Greek Orthodox Divine Liturgy.  Each month, we try to have at least one Divine Liturgy  (with a visiting Priest).  That Service is normally on a Saturday (or a Special Service/Feast weekday) and is scheduled when a Priest is available.  In addition to communion during the Service, private meetings with the Priest are available by appointment (for personal matters, planning future events, and Confession).
Special Invitation - Saint Nectarios Church welcomes all: During Divine Liturgy, which is mostly in English, the Lord's Prayer is said by parishioners in their native languages.  Currently the prayer is normally said in English, Arabic, Russian, Spanish, and Greek.  If you wish to participate (and perhaps add a language), just let us know.
On most weeks, we remotely celebrate Saturday Vespers  and Sunday Online Divine Liturgy  with Father John in the Seattle area.  During the remote Divine Liturgy, Communion is served to Father's attending family and friends - but is unavailable to those participating online.
Online Greek Orthodox Vespers and Other Special Services are normally celebrated online with Father John in Seattle.  The link for joining Zoom to actively participate in on-line Services is

On the last Sunday of each month, there normally is a Typica Reader Service  with a Parish Fellowship Time.  This in-Church Service is held as an opportunity to bring the local community together - and hopefully eventually returning St. Nectarios to having a full time Priest.

Tri-Cities Coptic Church Services
Saint Mary and Saint Abanoub Coptic Orthodox Church.    This Coptic Church is currently holding services at the St. Nectarios Church.  A Saturday or Sunday Holy Liturgy with a visiting Priest is normally held once per month either in the Tricities or in Spokane.  All are invited to attend.
