We just had a very successful Greek Festival, details of which will be forthcoming when all the numbers are in. At this time, we wish to thank so many who made it possible, and in advance, if we have failed to mention someone, please know that it was an unintentional oversight. We appreciate everyone who helped in any way.
First, those who supported us: the people of Williamsburg and surrounding areas. Many came for a great Greek meal and entertainment and many came because they want to support our establishment in the community, our continuing presence and our growth.
Next, our volunteers without whom nothing could have happened. This is stewardship at its finest! They worked tirelessly in preparation for, during the Festival, and in the clean up and recovery from the Festival. We would like to specifically recognize Mrs. Panagiota Manos whose tireless cooking and wonderful recipes were a shining example to us all of hard work for the Church!
To our sister Greek Orthodox parishes of both Sts. Constantine & Helen in Richmond and Newport News for vital and continuing support in many ways for our success, not the least of which was the Dance Group from Newport News.
To the local businesses for their generous support: those who donated food, the use of their facilities, kitchen laborers, cash and/or gift cards for the raffle, to include Kephi, Fireside Chop House, Calonial Pancake House, Paul's Deli, Shorty's, NY Deli, Jimmy da Greek, Astronomical Pancake House, Spartan Gyro, Maurizio's, la Tarraza, Meadow Custard, Old City BBQ, Cava, and Another Broken Egg.
And of course, we thank our Good Lord and God who blessed us with good weather and in so many other abandant ways, to include the good spirit of cooperation and harmony, which resulted in a great Festival in the most important way, in building our community from within.
