LIGHT A CANDLE AND SAY A PRAYER: When you are not able to attend church, you can purchase a candle from our church website (home page or video-streaming page), which will be lit before the following service or a service that you specify. Please give specific names, living or deceased, that you would like Father to remember in prayer. Father will light candles one hour before each service. For Sunday services, please place candle orders prior to 8:00 am Sunday morning.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES:
PALM SUNDAY FISH LUNCHEON: Our parish will hold its traditional Palm Sunday fish luncheon TODAY, Sunday, April 13th, immediately following the Divine Liturgy service. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for kids; a limited number of seats will be on sale TODAY at the door.
HOLY FRIDAY YOUTH RETREAT: From the Mystical Supper to Christ’s final moments on the cross and burial in the tomb, our youth up to age 18 will spend April 18, Holy Friday afternoon from 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm in learning, reflection, and prayer (families attend Apokathelosis service together in church at 3:30 pm.) Please contact the church office if a letter is needed, requesting an excused absence for your child from school on that day.
EPITAPHIO DECORATION: Volunteers are needed in the church on Holy Friday, following the 9:30 am “Royal Hours” service to decorate the Epitaphion with flowers. Please join us for this very special volunteer opportunity.
ANASTASI SUPPER: Following the Holy Saturday Anastasi service and Divine Liturgy, we will break our fast together with a complimentary Anastasi Supper in the HCC. A traditional meal of soup, lamb and potatoes, eggs and tsoureki, all prepared by parishioners, will be served. Please plan to stay and join us.
EASTER EGG HUNT: On Easter Sunday, following the 11:00 am AGAPE service, we will hold our Easter Egg Hunt in the hall for the children. There will be lots of fun crafts, games, and extra treats for the kids, along with a visit and photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny!
TUESDAY LUNCH CLUB (TLC) – Our next gathering will be on Tuesday, April 22 at 12:00 pm in the HCC. Cost is $15. Bring a friend!! Reserve your spot by April 17th by contacting Lynne Vasiliades at (734) 674-8943 or [email protected], or by calling the church office.
MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH: Make your reservations today for the Hellenic Cultural Center’s annual Mother’s Day Brunch, Sunday, May 11th, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Your $40 adult ticket includes an all-you-can-eat Brunch buffet, family photo booth, and a complimentary cocktail and gift for mom! Call the HCC office at 734.525.3550.
SAVE THE DATES! Our Vacation Bible School, for young people Pre K – 6th grade, will be held the week of June 16 – 20. As you plan your summer vacation and camp schedules, save this week for the kids to have a fun time learning about their faith! More information coming soon!
NEWS AND NOTICES:
MYRRHOPHORES: We are inviting young girls, up to age 12, to act as myrrhophores, (myrrh-bearers) for the Good Friday 6:30 pm Lamentations service. Girls should wear all white, will scatter rose petals on the Epitaphio, and walk in the procession around the church. To sign your child up, or for more information, please talk to Joy Kisabeth.
HOLY WEEK BOOKS, RED EGG DYE STILL AVAILABLE! Kali Anastasi! Holy Week books are available in the bookstore and at the pangari for $35 each. We also have Anatoli Red Egg dye from Greece for $4/package, lambathes, and many small books and items perfect for Easter baskets and giving!
GREAT LENT/EASTER FLOWER DONATIONS NEEDED: For each Friday night Salutations to the Theotokos service, and throughout Great Lent and Holy Week, our parish icons are decorated with beautiful flowers. If you would like to make a donation towards the Icon flowers, please make a check out to Saints Constantine and Helen Church and put “Flowers” in the memo line. There will be a special tray passed TODAY, Palm Sunday to collect donations for the Good Friday Epitaphion.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are in need of volunteers to help serve the Easter Anastasi Supper in our Hellenic Cultural Center following the Midnight Anastasi service on April 20th. This traditional complimentary meal of lamb and potatoes, margiritsa soup, and red eggs is entirely prepared and served by parishioners. If you can help, please contact the church office to let us know.
PARADE THANKS: Thanks to all our GOYAns and parish volunteers who gathered to put together our fantastic St Cons’ Greek Independence Day Parade float, and who came on out to Greektown last Sunday to march and ride in the parade! Special shout out to Laz Vlahadamis and Ryan Stamatakos who did a great job on FOX TV 2 helping to promote the event, along with marching the day of the parade!
