LIGHT A CANDLE AND SAY A PRAYER: When you are not able to attend church, you can purchase a candle from our church website (home page or video-streaming page), which will be lit before the following service or a service that you specify. Please give specific names, living or deceased, that you would like Father to remember in prayer. Father will light candles one hour before each service. For Sunday services, please place candle orders prior to 8:00 am Sunday morning.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES:
MEETINGS TODAY: Several church organizations will be holding meetings following TODAY’s Divine Liturgy service.
- GOYA Meeting will be held in the Board Room
- MEN’S GROUP Meeting will be held in the HCC hall
- PHILOPTOCHOS Meeting will be held in the HCC hall
Please plan to stay and attend these important meetings as we prepare for Holy Pascha and beyond.
GREEK PARADE: Join us for a day of Greek culture, pride, and fun! The annual Detroit Greek Independence Day Parade will be held next Sunday, April 6th, beginning at 3:00 pm at Detroit’s historic Greek Town! Come on out and march with Sts. Constantine and Helen. Parade line up will begin at 2:30 pm. There is a new parade route this year, starting at the Annunciation Cathedral. Wear your Greek colors (blue and white) and costumes if you have them: and if you don’t – show your St Cons pride and wear your GreekFest volunteer t-shirt! St Cons in near the end of the line up this year, so if you are marching with a different organizational group, come back around around and march the route with the church as well! Our mascot “Kostaki” will be marching along with us, as will the Detroit Pistons’ “Hooper.”
LENTEN FISH FRYS: Final Friday for our Lenten Fish Fries is this week, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. They also offer fried calamari, and many Lenten sides, for those of us who are fasting, and not eating fish. Cost for adults is $23, for kids under 12, $16. These events are open to the public, please bring your friends out and help support our HCC!
SATURDAY OF LAZARUS: Please plan to bring your whole family and join us in worship this Saturday, April 12th for the SATURDAY OF LAZARUS Divine Liturgy service, and stay for a complimentary pancake breakfast, and to help make palm crosses for Palm Sunday!
PALM SUNDAY FISH LUNCHEON: Our parish will hold its traditional Palm Sunday fish luncheon on Sunday, April 13th, immediately following the Divine Liturgy service. We have a delicious meal planned of whitefish, calamari and shrimp and rice, along with sides. Plan to stay after service and attend with your family, as we begin Holy Week together. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for kids, and will be on sale TODAY at coffee hour, or from the church office. HOLY FRIDAY YOUTH RETREAT: From the Mystical Supper to Christ’s final moments on the cross and burial in the tomb, our youth up to age 18 will spend April 18, Holy Friday afternoon from 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm in learning, reflection, and prayer (families attend Apokathelosis service together in church at 3:30 pm.) Please contact the church office by April 11th to let us know your young people’s availability to participate in this special Holy Friday Retreat. [email protected] or 734.525.6789. If needed, the church will provide you a letter signed by Father Teodor requesting an excused absence for your child from school on that day.
TUESDAY LUNCH CLUB (TLC) – Our next gathering will be on Tuesday, April 22 at 12:00 pm in the HCC. Cost is $15. Bring a friend!! Reserve your spot by April 17th by contacting Lynne Vasiliades at (734) 674-8943 or [email protected], or by calling the church office.
SAVE THE DATES! Our Vacation Bible School, for young people Pre K – 6th grade, will be held the week of June 16 – 20. As you plan your summer vacation and camp schedules, save this week for the kids to have a fun time learning about their faith! More information coming soon!
NEWS AND NOTICES:
EASTER GIVING: Parishioners should have received a letter at home this week with our Holy Week schedule and including a special envelope for Easter Donations. We appreciate your prayerful consideration of this annual gift, and your generous and greatly needed donations at this time. There are extra giving envelopes and Holy Week Schedules available at the Pangari.
GREAT LENT/EASTER FLOWER DONATIONS NEEDED: For each Friday night Salutations to the Theotokos service, and throughout Great Lent and Holy Week, our parish icons are decorated with beautiful flowers. If you would like to make a donation towards the Icon flowers, please make a check out to Saints Constantine and Helen Church and put “Flowers” in the memo line. There will be a special tray passed on Palm Sunday to collect donations for the Good Friday Epitaphion.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are in need of volunteers to help serve the Easter Anastasi Supper in our Hellenic Cultural Center following the Midnight Anastasi service on April 20th. This traditional complimentary meal of lamb and potatoes, margiritsa soup, eggs and tsourecki is entirely prepared and served by parishioners. If you can help, please contact the church office to let us know.
COMMUNION VISITS FOR HOMEBOUND: Father Teodor is making visits to our homebound parishioners to give communion now through Holy Week. Please contact the church office if you would like Father to come visit, or if you know somebody who is unable to get to church and would appreciate a visit from Fr. Teodor for communion.
HELLENIC HERITAGE NIGHT AT THE PISTONS GAME: Come out on Friday, April 11th to see the Detroit Pistons play the Milwaukee Bucks! Lots of free swag, including a Pistons baseball jersey and many fun opportunities with your special ticket purchase! Our Xarisma dancers (and “Kostaki”) will also perform before the game! MDSC CAMP REGISTRATION/APPLICATIONS OPEN: Camper registrations are open for the Metropolis of Detroit Summer Camp in Rose City. Our parish will sponsor $100 for each St. Cons child who is registered for the Metropolis Detroit Summer Camp program to assist with registration fees. If your child has registered for camp, please contact the church office at [email protected] and let us know your child’s name, and the week they will be attending MDSC camp to get your scholarship. MEMORIAL SERVICES: Please call the church office to schedule all memorials and coffee hour sponsorships at least two weeks in advance. On the day of the service, please bring a list of family names you would like Father to remember in prayer. The requested Coffee Hour Sponsorship donation is $200. Koliva will be distributed to parishioners at the coffee hour; if you wish to bring in paximadia, koulourakia, or other dry cookie it may also be distributed.
