LIGHT A CANDLE AND SAY A PRAYER: When you are not able to attend church, you can purchase a candle from our church website (home page or video-streaming page), which will be lit before the following service or a service that you specify. Please give specific names, living or deceased, that you would like Father to remember in prayer. Father will light candles one hour before each service. For Sunday services, please place candle orders prior to 8:00 am Sunday morning.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES:
HOPE AND JOY “CONVERSATIONS AND COFFEE”: Next Sunday, 10/20/24, HOPE and JOY will host our first “Conversations & Coffee” event with Father Teodor. During coffee hour, adults are invited to meet with Father Teodor for informal group discussion while the children participate in light activities with our HOPE and JOY team. Father encourages attendees to bring topics to these meetings for group discussion. Adult only discussion should last approximately 45 minutes. No lunch is provided.
GOYA FALL FELLOWSHIP: Young people, grades 7 – 12 are welcome to join us on Sunday, October 20th for a super fun day with a variety of activities, and yummy donuts and cider at Debuck’s Family Farm! The event starts at 2:00 pm. Questions? [email protected] or Maria Haviland at 734.417.9650.
ADULT BIBLE STUDY: Our Adult Bible Study will meet this Tuesday, October 15th at 7:00 pm. Bible Study meets each Tuesday evening on the Zoom platform, all adults are welcome to participate, as we continue our study of the Book of Matthew. TLC IS BACK!: Join us on Tuesday, October 22 for our first Tuesday Lunch Club (TLC) event of the year!! Cost is $15; time is 12:00 pm in the Hellenic Cultural Center. FALL FESTIVAL: Our annual Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 25th, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm in the Hellenic Cultural Center. The event features a bounce house, new games and prizes, Bingo, Photo Booth, Food, and Fun for all ages! This year, we will also have our first-ever PASTITSIO COOK OFF! If you have a great recipe for pastitsio (it’s OK to borrow one from your yiayia!) we want you! Reach out to Georgia at: [email protected] to participate. Tickets for the Fall Festival event will be on sale at the door - $10 each, or $35 for a family group of 4 or more. Costumes are optional (but they’re a lot more fun!)
GREEK PASTRY BAKING LESSONS: Our final Greek Pastry baking lesson will be held on 10/24 - Koulourakia. Time is 6:00 pm. There is no fee, and all materials are provided. OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT AT THE HCC: Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come on out to the Hellenic Cultural Center this Thursday night, October 17th at 7:00 pm for our Outdoor Movie Night! The double feature bill includes the original BEETLEJUICE (PG), and SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK (PG 13) Tickets will be sold at the door - single movie ticket $10, double feature ticket is $15. Concessions will be available for purchase.
FOCUS DETROIT GALA: FOCUS Detroit’s 2nd annual “Evening of Gratitude” will be held on Saturday, October 26th at the St. Mary Cultural Center in Livonia, with dinner, drinks and dancing to support the work of FOCUS Detroit in serving those in need. LIGHTS, CAMERA, AUCTION! Our “Putting on the Glitz” Reverse Raffle and auction will be held on Sunday, November 10th. Raffle tickets are on sale now from any Parish Council
member, at the coffee hour, or in the church office – last ticket drawn wins $4,000, with many more fantastic prizes given throughout the night. WE ARE ALSO STILL IN NEED OF AUCTION ITEMS FOR OUR LIVE AND SILENT AUCTION ON THAT NIGHT. Talk to any Parish Council member or the church office for tickets and information.
NEWS AND NOTICES:
COLLEGE CONNECTION: The Sts. Constantine & Helen Mom's Group is planning to mail the fall College Connection care packages to our undergrad and graduate students (either living at home or away) near the end of October. Please let us know your student's address by Oct. 20, so we can send their package to the correct address. Please submit their address on the Google form here: https://www.stcons.org/documents
IT’S SOCKTOBER! Our GOYA will be collecting socks through the month of October to donate to the Redford Township District Library Sock Drive. Working together with Redford Interfaith Relief, we will be collecting new socks sized 2T and up. Please bring your donations to church through the month of October.
MEMORIAL SERVICES: Please call the church office to schedule all memorials and coffee hour sponsorships at least two weeks in advance. On the day of the service, please bring a list of family names you would like Father to remember in prayer. The requested Coffee Hour Sponsorship donation is $200. Koliva will be distributed to parishioners at the coffee hour; if you wish to bring in paximadia, koulourakia, or other dry cookie it may also be distributed.
