Diakonia Newsletter
Diakonia, a national ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, is a weekly educational resource designed to enrich your parish's ministry and edify the faithful. Diakonia also creates a weekly bridge between our Seminary—Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology—and your local community. Each week, Diakonia delivers high-quality, impactful content that highlights the beauty of our Orthodox Christian faith, life, and Biblical roots of the Hellenic tradition.
Designed for "point and click" ease, Diakonia acts as a turnkey supplement to your existing parish communications. By featuring insights from Seminary professors, historical highlights from historical archives, and family and ministry resources, Diakonia reduces your time to curate high quality content while ensuring your faithful receive consistent, scholarly, and spiritually edifying material every Sunday.
How to Use Diakonia in Bulletin Builder
Integrating this rich content into your weekly publication is simple and flexible. Each week, a new edition will be available for you to use within Bulletin Builder. When creating your bulletin, you can choose the level of integration that best fits your layout and your parishioners' needs:
- Include the Full Newsletter: With one click, you can include the entire Diakonia Newsletter in your bulletin. For PDF publishing, the full newsletter PDF will be inserted directly into your bulletin. For web and email formats, a thumbnail preview with a download link will be displayed, allowing parishioners to access the complete publication.
- Select Individual Articles (A La Carte): For a more customized approach, you can browse specific sections of the weekly Diakonia — such as the Lexical Insight, the Scripture Devotional, or the Youth/Family Activity — and drop them directly into your custom bulletin layout.
For those parishes who are not using Bulletin Builder, you can still use Diakonia at your parish! Visit the Diakonia Newsletter Archive page to download the current or past editions of the Diakonia Newsletter! Diakonia Newsletter Archive
