Pastoral Message from the August Beacon
08/01/2025
Dear Parishioners of our Beloved Assumption,
On August 1, we celebrate 11 years together – this makes me the longest serving priest at AGOC. What is amazing is that I feel as though we are just beginning!
We have been blessed to have so many new leaders emerge over the past few years and to add to our family many people that have moved into the area and/or were received into the faith from other traditions. Our growth as a community is astonishing. So many have not only made the AGOC their parish, but also their home. We are truly blessed!
This month, we also will be witnessing a great milestone in our history – the demolition of our current parish hall. I know that this moment has been long anticipated and will be truly emotional as we build a new home for our ministries. How exciting!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have sacrificed to get the AGOC to this historic moment: the PC, Building Committee, Youth Workers, Festival chairs and volunteers, Glendi Committee, GOGO Committee, and those that have worked on our transition. If I have forgotten anyone, please know that it is unintentional and that you are greatly appreciated.
Today, we look at the century that we have completed and to the century that we are beginning with gratitude. Tomorrow, we get back to the blessed work of spreading His Gospel and bringing world into the fold.
Praying that the Lord continue to bless us with growth, I remain,
In His Service,
Rev. Father Jon Boukis
