• You may have noticed our outdoor garden has some new flowers.  We spent a Saturday morning weeding, cleaning and planting for all to enjoy.  There are several new plants, which we look forward to watching this summer and in the years to come.
• In keeping with the green initiative from Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, we have planted several native Michigan perennials, which have the added benefit of being lower maintenance, better pollinators, and have increased CO2 intake.
• If you would like to support these efforts of the Cathedral, please consider donating $25-$50 in support of our beautiful gardens.  Please mark all funds as “Garden money”.  Additionally, if you would like to volunteer to clean up the garden beds (we do this every few weeks in the summer), please contact Kim or Will Lianos at [email protected] .
• Finally, a special thank you to our own Manoli.  He finds daily things to improve in our gardens, whether that is weeding, watering, or just keeping watch.  Our church community is wonderful – thank you to all!!!

• THANK YOU!  The pita luncheon was a huge success. As a result of your generosity, your Philoptochos was able to donate $500 to defray the cost of a much needed new security system for our beloved church.  
• Summer Coffee Hour:  Summer is approaching quickly and with it comes a unique opportunity for individuals or families to participate along with the Philoptochos ladies in preparing and serving coffee and snacks on Sundays from July 7 through August 25 (8 weeks).  If you are interested in helping on one or more of these Sundays, please contact Helen Papalekas at [email protected] or (313) 706-6457. Helen will provide you with further information and answer your questions. 
• Memorial Coffee Hour Fees: Parishioners of the Annunciation $150.00, Non-parishioners $200.00.  This includes 2 tables of 8 completely set with 8 plates of food, utensils, and beverages (coffee and water).  Additional tables of 8 are $25.00 each.  
• Cookbooks: Amaze your family and friends with your cooking skills! The Joy of Greek Cooking cookbooks are for sale once again! The book contains hundreds of authentic recipes from the kitchens of our parishioners. Price remains affordable at $20, or $24 which includes shipping. Porch pickup is also available in Farmington Hills.

THE CHIOS SOCITEY OF DETROIT ANNUAL ARTOKLASIA, MEMORIAL AND COFFEE HOUR – SUNDAY, JULY 21, 2024.
The Chios Society of Detroit will be hosting its annual Artoklasia to celebrate their patron Saint, St. Markella (feast day July 22) as well as a Memorial service and Coffee hour for the departed members and loved ones.

Celebrating the 25-Year Enthronement Anniversary in honor of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas this year.

The Holy relic (‘Αγιo Λείψανο) of St. Andrew the Apostle will be on display in the reliquary of the Annunciation Cathedral of Detroit for embracement and veneration for whomever wishes to do so.  The Holy relics have been safe guarded in the sanctuary of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral for over one hundred years, and it is now the time for them to be venerated and presented to all the faithful Christians.

Please call Fr. Georgios Manias or the Church Office to schedule and confirm in advance, Sacraments and special Liturgical services, such as Memorials and Trisagion in order to honor your beloved ones.
