Message from your Priest
My Dear Family in the Lord,
Since we already started, the most beautiful season of the year, Summer, Καλοκαίρι, I greet you in the Name of Our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ, and wish you all to have a Wonderful summer.
It is a time for vacations, a time for relaxing, for having a wonderful time with family and friends. Our God creates all these wonderful things for us to enjoy. But we also shouldn’t forget that God also called us to be His followers, and by accepting that call, we committed our lives and our entire selves to God. In this context, we need to stay with God and to stay connected with Him, for our whole life, meaning that we should not take vacations from The Church Services, because God will never take a “vacation” from us. God is always present for us, He is always there for us, 24/7/365(6), with no pause or break!
In today’s Gospel Lesson, we have the commitment that some of the Apostles made when they were called by Jesus Christ to be with Him and to follow Him. They followed Him unconditionally and with no hesitation! The Power of His Word was enough to convince them to go after Him. It is never recorded in The Holy Scriptures that they left Him, or abandoned Him, or went on vacation and left Him for a while! They were always with Him, probably you can say that some of them, if not all of them, left Him, for a while, during His trial, because they were afraid to be there for Him, or to identify themselves as His Disciples. But that was understandable, because they couldn’t be with Jesus at that moment and die on The Cross along with Him!
My Dearly Beloved in The Lord, the main point that I want to touch your hearts with, is that even when we are away, vacationing in Greece or many other “exotic destinations”, even when we have fun enjoying the good weather and the outdoors, there’s still time for everything! We can go to the beach, to parks, to all kinds of entertainment, and still make time for God on Sundays! Through that, we will show that we are still connected with the Lord and that we live our life with Christ, for Christ and in Christ, unto the ages of ages, AMEN!
With all my love in Christ, I embrace y’all and remain, your servant in The Lord,
+ Father Catalin
