Καλές διακοπές! “Happy Vacation!”
Fr. Paul wanted to let us know that Presvytera and he will be vacationing for a few weeks. They will miss the next two Sundays and return on Sunday, July 16. Both Fr. Polycarp (864) 735-2949 and Fr. Stavroforos (919) 491-2565 have made themselves available if there is a pastoral need. He also wanted to take this opportunity to “once again thank the community for putting on one of the best Clergy-Laity Conferences ever undertaken” also saying “May God continue to bless our community!”

Children’s Change for Change
How do we raise kind, caring, charity-minded Orthodox youth? By actively involving them in the process! With Children's Change for Change, even the youngest members of our community can take part in charitable works. Following the conclusion of the service on the FIRST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH, we ask one family from our AHJ community to hold collection baskets and encourage our parishioners to donate their pocket change in support of Orthodox mission work around the globe. If you're interested in involving your family in this meaningful ministry, contact Leslie Dombalis at ldombalis@gmail.com or Zoe Pusic at zpusic@yahoo.com.

What Does it Mean to Be Green?
Did you know that His All Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew is known as the Green Patriarch? But what does that actually mean? Come and discover the answer with our Christians Caring for Creation ministry as we screen The Green Patriarch on Friday, July 21 in the fellowship hall. The film explores His Eminence's vision for us as Orthodox Christians and our responsibility as stewards of the Earth. We will be hosting a pot-luck dinner at 6:30 pm, with the film to start at 7pm, so bring a dish to share and come learn with us!

Your Contributions to St. John the Merciful
If you ever wanted to know the impact of your help to STJM on other people’s lives this pretty much sums it up. We received this from one of our case workers and clients we helped. Thank you and God bless and keep you
Hello Deacon, I am writing to share some positive feedback that I received from Ms. Sherry yesterday. Sherry talked at length about how shocked she felt by the generosity of your parish. As you were moving all of her new furniture in, Ms. Sherry kept asking me, “Why are they giving me all of this stuff, they don’t even know me, this would never have happened in my culture”. After you left, she kept repeating “It looks like a home, I love it. Look at our new home Abraham.” She also really loved the green glasses set you provided her. She says that green is her lucky color. In this line of work, the happy fulfilling moments come few and far between, but when I get the opportunity to watch one of our clients grow and achieve their goals of independence, it warms my heart. Thank you for all that you do for our ladies, there are not enough words to express how meaningful it is that you donate your time and help to create a sense of home for these families that deserve it so much.
Warmest Regards,
Jen Sundberg –
Interact of Wake County (and Sherry & Abraham)
