Prision Ministry Awareness Sunday
Today, May 21, we follow all Orthodox parishes of North America in remembering “these the least of my brethren” by assisting OCPM (Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry) in spreading awareness of this vital ministry and not to forget that even a “small gift may earn a crown of glory” (St. John Chrysostom). “We who do not live in the darkness of a prison or jail cannot truly comprehend the incredible distress men and women prisoners live with each and every day. OCPM needs all our help to bring the love and light of Christ to these precious souls. The Orthodox Church, through OCPM, offers both hope and healing to those living in such distress” (Archbishop Mark). Donations may be made by check to Holy Trinity or Philoptochos – please note “prison ministry” or by visiting www.theocpm.org.

Building the Panagia Chapel: Roof Tiles
The Panagia Chapel at the Diakonia Retreat Center is in its final stages. To wrap up the building of the Panagia Chapel, His Eminence has asked that each family give the names of their loved ones, living and deceased to be sealed in the Holy Table during consecration and prayed for during each service held in the Chapel forever. When submitting names, it is requested that each family prayerfully considers a sponsorship of $30 or more, as you are able, to the completion of the Panagia Chapel’s roof. Please Contact the Metropolis Media Contact at communications@atlmetropolis.org or 404-634-9345 ext. 24 for more questions.
