Parish General Assembly THIS SUNDAY March 19th
We will be holding our Parish General Assembly THIS SUNDAY after Liturgy in the Fellowship Hall. Please plan to attend. Please also make sure you have filled out your 2017 pledge form if you have not done so already.
Philoptochos Sponsoring Coffee Hour for Holy Cross
Our Ladies Philoptochos will be sponsoring the coffee hour as well as passing an extra tray in support of our seminarians at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline MA. Please consider giving to support the clergy of the future and join us for Coffee hour after Liturgy.
Metropolis of Atlanta Clergy-Laity, Philoptochos, and Southeastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Choirs and Musicians Assembly
We are very honored and excited to be hosting the Metropolis of Atlanta Clergy-Laity, Philoptochos, and Southeastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Choirs and Musicians Assembly in Raleigh, NC, June 21 - 24, 2017. This will be a historic event as it will be the first time our entire Metropolis family will be united. The theme of the assembly is, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." Matthew 28:19. Our events include An Evening of Greek Art at the North Carolina Museum of Art on Wednesday, June 21, 7 p.m., the Philoptochos Luncheon on Thursday, June 22, noon; and the Grand Banquet (Cocktail Hour 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.; Banquet 7:30 p.m.) on Thursday, June 22. Commemorative Album ads, Sponsorships and Event tickets will be on sale in the Church Hall starting Sunday, March 19, 2017. Philoptochos Clergy-Laity Charity Event
The social highlight of the Philoptochos Conference at Clergy Laity/Philoptochos/Choir Event will be a luncheon for all delegates and guests. In the spirit of philanthropy it has become a tradition to donate centerpieces to a charity of choice.This year, our Metropolis will offer assistance to homeless women veterans in a heart felt effort to improve their condition. The centerpieces will contain items of use for homeless women. We are offering you the opportunity to donate a centerpiece "in honor of" or "in memory of" a veteran in your life. Please see Mary Wehbie or Beba Zevgolis in the church hall March 19th and March 26th.Thank you in advance for your dedication and love.
Clergy– Laity, Philoptochos and Choir Chair Meeting March 23rd
The next Clergy-Laity, Philoptochos, Choir Assembly Chair Meeting will be held March 23rd at 7:00 pm in the Multipurpose room. Please mark your calendars!
Stewardship Update
Thank you to the 200 Steward families who have pledged nearly $290,000 this year! Thanks to your generosity, we are well on our way to our goal of 330 Steward Families (a 10% increase over last year). If you have not yet pledged for 2017, please fill out a pledge form to be part of yet another record setting stewardship year at Holy Trinity!
AHEPA Greek Independence Day Celebration NEXT SUNDAY
AHEPA will be celebrating Greek Independence Day on Sunday, March 26th after Church. We will be serving a Lenten luncheon. The advanced adults tickets are $15.00 each {$18.00 for day of the event}. The kids’ lunch will have fish-sticks instead of the shrimp. The advanced kid tickets {12 and under} will be $6.00 each {$8.00 for day of the event}. PLEASE help us out and purchase your tickets early. Thank You for helping us in honoring our Greek heritage.
Lent and Holy Week Memorial Donations
Preparations for Easter have begun! We encourage anyone from the community to sponsor the supplies or flowers that will decorate the church. For the Salutations to the Virgin Mary, we encourage anyone with the name Mary to sponsor the Flowers on Friday nights during Lent. TOMORROW, March 18th from 11:00 am - 1:30pm, in the Multipurpose Room, there will be a Chinese Auction and Pot Luck Lenten luncheon.
The proceeds will benefit a charity organization.
Saturday, April 22nd, we will travel to Seagrove, NC potters 9th Annual Spring Kiln Openings and Studio Tours. Transportation will be available.

Lenten Drive for Backpack Buddies
The Backpack Buddies Program provides food to children who are unable to bring lunches for themselves in schools. Please bring the following items to Elaine’s table do that we can support this life saving program: Pasta spaghetti sauce, rice, mac and cheese, bottled water, cereal, granola bars, peanut butter, jelly, juices, pretzels/chips canned items:
tuna, chicken breast, green beans corn, soups.
Lenten Lecture Series Continues March 22nd
We are celebrating the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts this coming Wednesday as well as hearing a lecture from members of The Triangle Young Adult League on “The Meaning of Orthodoxy to Young Adults!”

Have you read a good book lately? Come by our CHURCH LIBRARY and check out a good book. Be inspired, get some help for you journey through Great Lent. We have biographies, books that are inspirational, devotional, and informative. Here are some suggestions: Christ In Our Midst: Letters from a Russian Monk- Fr. SHRED-THON at HOLY TRINITY at 10 A.M. There will be a truck from PRO-SHRED in the Church parking lot to take all of our parishioners' tax and other papers to shred and recycle. Our sincere thanks to JIM KLEMES for providing this opportunity free of charge.
